Brandt made sketched people quickly and faithfully captured likeness and attitude, in addition to her studies of children, she made portraits of theatrical personalities, including a group portrait of Michéal MacLiammóir, Hilton Edwards and Christine Longford (Collection: Gate Theatre, Dublin). Her portrait of Michéal MacLiammóir shows the actor in his prime, at a time when he was giving his memorable solo performances as Oscar Wilde.
