Permanent Catalogue No. DMAC 0040

Provenance: Presented by the Artist, 1974.

The artist spent some months on Achill Island in 1929, painting portraits of local children. Her first solo show was later that year at the Dublin Painters Gallery and featured Achill Portraits which were exhibited as genre studies under a range of titles such as Bridgid, Little Bridgid and the The White Pinafore. It is thought that this work is a study for a larger composite work in which Bridgid is flanked by two other girls.
