Wheel Chair Users
All public areas of the building are fully accesible by wheelchair, please bear in mind that when converting a building of the age of the former Friary Church has been logistically challenging. We are happy that universal accessibilty has been largely achieved, though certain areas, require attention or careful navigation.
Our floor staff will assist gallery users with special needs, should they request. Intercoms are set at eye level for wheelchair users, as are door handles and other aids. Courtesy manual wheelchairs are available on request at the main reception and Louth Craftmark shop entrances. Courtesy wheelchairs are sponsored by the Drogheda Community Services Centre Charity Chest.
As a response to our building users feedback, key fire and access doors in the building are presently being fitted with a infra-red sensors which will automatically open doors for all users on approach to assist people manage the buildings necessary heavy fire doors, this work is expected to be completed in 2007.
Hearing Loops
Hearing loops have been installed at the Andersons cafe cash desk (which also covers the Louth CraftMark cash desk) and the principal Gallery reception desk. We also have portable loops which cover the galleries to assist with talks, gallery tours and other events.

Guide/Hearing Dogs are always welcome.
Visual Impairments
We plan to roll out universal accessibility for our internet site, braile signs within the gallery and cafe menus.
Presentation of Exhibits
Where conservation considerations allow, works on display are hung at modern convention to enable all gallery users gain a better appreciation of the work, we are working to ensure, that when we can, if using cases that they comply with best practice to enable wheelchairs users view the exhibits.
Curatorial Cards
We have attempted to ensure that curatorial cards contain a minium of block capitals and other style features with reasonably large typefaces.
