Works   |   Exhibitions featuring Nano Reid
Nano Reid was born to a middle class family in Drogheda in 1905, various biographies often indicate a later date of birth, possibly resulting from Nano's ambivelent attitude to her age. However, reserach by Declan Mallon on her life indicates she was actually born in 1905. Her family had an extensive farm north of Drogheda and several bars in the town. In later life, she settled with her two sisters at the remaining family business 'Thomas Reid's' on St. James' Street in the heart of medieval Drogheda.

Nano Reid combined all the influences of her art studies, first under Harry Clarke at the Dublin Metorpolitan School in the 1920's and later in Paris and London to become an individual and expressionistic painter.
